| The spirit of adventure awaits your camper at Hoofbeat with an opportunity for building self-esteem, self-awareness and self-discovery in a wonderful child specific outdoor environment. The program allows campers to succeed at their own pace in a supervised, positive family setting. Girls ages 7-12 and Boys ages 7-9, can attend your choice of one-week sessions. | ||

Facilities
include a new day camp building, an indoor riding arena, athletic field,
miles of riding and hiking trails, nature cabins and an outdoor riding
arena. |

Hoofbeat Ridge Day Camp is accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA). This means Hoofbeat has demonstrated compliance with up to 300 individual health, safety, and program quality standards. These standards establish criteria for program areas, personnel, transportation, administrative procedures, health care, program activities, and emergency procedures. Accreditation tells parents and campers that Hoofbeat Day Camp has been measured against national standards. Hoofbeat Ridge is pleased to be included in the 25% of camps which are accredited in the U.S. |

Day Camp Themes
| Campers may choose from a variety of themes for each week. Activities on Fridays relate to the theme for the week. Some of the theme activities include: | ||

Horse Lover's Week For Girls-This week of fun includes riding western 5 times during the week (weather permitting), along with theme activities, special horse care classes, bareback riding, basic first aid for horses and a horse show.

| Quarter Horse Week - During this week, campers will learn about the history of quarter horses, along with activities and fun facts about the quarter horse breed. This week also includes daily riding, mounted games and Western Horsemanship halter classes. |

Ages
|
Campers are divided into groups of 10 by age. Caring, trained group
leaders are assigned to each group. |

| Lunches: | Campers should bring a sack lunch and 2 drinks each day Send items that do not need to be refrigerated. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Helmets: | You may send along an S.E.I. certified riding helmet. We provide helmets to campers without a personal helmet. Bike helmets are NOT acceptable. Riding helmets are available for sale at camp. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Attendance: | It is important for us to know if your child will be absent or arriving late by other transportation. Please call if your child is going to be absent or late. Any change in bus location must be made in writing 1 or 2 days prior to the change. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. | Because there will not be a camp staff member at each bus pickup location, we ask that a parent or other responsible adult supervise your child until the bus arrives, the adult should also be there at drop off times. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Our staff will be riding the buses, but they will not be getting on or off at all locations. Please caution your camper about being careful around traffic when the bus is picking up and returning, and make arrangements to have your campers picked up at the listed bus times. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Staff
| Day
Camp staff are selected for their genuine love of children, maturity
and camp skills. Staff members receive training prior to the opening
of camp, which includes participation in a Red Cross First Aid Course.
Activity Leaders are college age, and most are majoring in elementary
education or related fields. Group leaders are high school juniors
and seniors, most of whom have been Hoofbeat campers. The camper-to-staff
ratio is approximately 5 to 1. Riding instructors are certified by
the Horsemanship Safety Association. |
