Hoofbeat provides Boy Scouts the ability to work on their Horsemanship Merit Badge.
Overnight: Many scout troops prefer the Friday/Saturday overnight program, which also gives an opportunity to work toward their Horse Lovers’ Merit Badge. In addition to your riding lesson, the fee includes lodging, a hayride and breakfast.
A minimum of 15 riders is required with a maximim of 35. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold the reservation.
Weekend: We offer weekends from September through May which include 2 nights lodging, 5 meals and a variety of activities.
Activities include 2-3 riding sessions and approximately 5 sessions of unmounted instruction. Scouts learn how to ride a horse as well as how to behave safely around a horse, lead a horse, groom and saddle, plus various other horse-related topics.
If you have a group of over 30 riders and would like to setup your own weekend, please contact Hoofbeat Ridge, 608-767-2593.
Evening: We also offer 2-hour riding programs after school for groups with a minimum of 10 riders. Contact us if you have any specific questions and for availability.
Scouts need to be at least 7 years old.
